Testimonials from KYC parents…

The Kentucky Youth Chorale has been the best activity for our two daughters for the last seven years. Julie White has great energy, love for children and passion for excellence. Julie draws out the best in every singer and provides many opportunities for them to perform, Our daughters have learned proper singing technique and the experienced the joy that comes when you participate with others to produce great sound together. Our girls always came back from rehearsal in high spirits. Our daughters have made friends while singing in some beautiful places: St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro, St. Meinrad, French Lick and West Baden in Indiana, The National Cathedral in Washington, DC, Notre Dame in Paris. They have participated twice in the International Children’s Choir Festival in Canterbury and Southwark Cathedrals in England. I Highly Recommend the Kentucky Youth Chorale!       KYC parent: Kathy

My daughter sang with KYC for several years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  She loved the relationships that she developed with young people of her age, from different schools. Singing with KYC not only developed her vocal skills, but improved her musicianship with the violin, “the voice of the orchestra.”  Traveling and performing in venues such as the Kennedy Center and Canterbury Cathedral were icing on the cake.  She is currently a senior at Appalachian State University, majoring in Music Therapy and credits KYC and Julie White with playing a significant role in her decision to pursue a career in music. Testimonial from Director of Music Education – Kentucky Wesleyan College…

I am sometimes asked to teach talented young singers (often ages 9-14).  I tell them that they are fortunate enough to live in a city that has the Kentucky Youth Chorale.  Singing in that program provides vocal and musicianship training that would be difficult to match in a private studio.  Coaching for auditions and talent shows individually can be helpful and encouraging, but in many cases the process of lessons before the voice is ready to be trained like an adult can burn out a young singer.  Then when lessons could be very profitable, the student is no longer motivated to study.
